Listed below are some of our most commonly asked questions/concerns.
1. Are There Materials That Can Guide Me In Helping My Kids Connect What They Learn At Church to Life At Home?
Yes. In fact, YOU have the potential for the most influence and impact on your child’s relationship with Christ. Yes, when it comes to actual hours of time spent with your kids, YOU are #1. We love talking to your kids about Jesus and work hard to connect them with him, but most children spend just over 1 hour a week here at church. They spend 70 hours a week with you (that’s not counting school or sleeping time). But imagine how we—you and the church—could influence and impact your child for Christ if we worked together!
Here are some useful links to materials to use at home:
2. What Can I Do To Help Set My Child Up For a Great Service?
Eat a snack before coming to church
Visit the bathroom right before dropping off your child
Leave toys at home or in the car
Keep sick kids at home
Let the leader know about any special needs
3. How Can I Help My Kids Feel More At Home At Church?
Attend church regularly and frequently. Kids need time to feel comfortable in an environment—even at church.
Pick one service time and stick with it. While it’s convenient to attend different services, kids need to see the same people—same kids, same leader—to make real connections.
Arrive on time—or even early. We welcome kids 30 minutes before services. In this time, kids play games, swap stories and get to know each other.
4. If My Child Isn’t Feeling Well, How Do I Know If Its Okay For Them To Attend Children’s Ministry?
Has your child had fever, diarrhea, or vomiting in the last 24 hours?
Has your child been sick and not on an antibiotic for at least 24 hours?
Does your child have discharge in or around their eyes?
Does your child have a green or yellow runny nose?
Has your child been coughing frequently and/or excessively?
Does your child have a communicable disease?
If you’ve answered yes to one or more of these, then your child should not attend children’s ministry this week. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping all of our children healthy by not bringing a child who may be sick.
