A Nursery Caregiver cares for, plays with and prays for each child in the Infant Nursery or Walkers’ Playroom. Through regular, consistent service, Nursery Caregivers build relationships with families, allowing parents to attend worship service knowing their baby is in a safe and loving environment.
A Nursery Substitute serves in the Infant Nursery or Walkers’ Playroom when weekly volunteers are absent from service. Just like consistent Nursery Caregivers, Nursery Substitutes provide parents with the opportunity to attend worship knowing their baby is in a safe and loving environment. They care for, play with and pray for each child in our nursery classrooms.
A Preschool Leader teaches kids that God made them, God loves them and Jesus wants to be their friend forever. They lead kids to discover these truths through Bible stories, activities, music, games and prayer.
A Preschool Helper shepherds kids to stay on-track while the Preschool Leader presents the Bible story and explains supporting activities. Helpers encourage children to sit and listen during story time and they help kids with activities and crafts that reinforce the weekly Bible truth.
A Preschool Substitute serves in a preschool classrooms when weekly volunteers are absent from service. Just like consistent Preschool Leaders and Helpers, Preschool Substitutes lead kids to discover God through Bible stories, activities, music, games and prayer.
A Small Group Leader invests deeply in the lives of a specific group of children. Over the elementary years, kids begin to take personal ownership of their faith, rather than it being a family choice. Small Group Leaders facilitate a healthy and fun group setting to help kids embrace a relationship with Jesus. During service time, Small Group Leaders reinforce the teaching presented in large group, facilitate activities and lead discussions to help kids apply Biblical truths to their own lives. In addition, they develop a mentoring relationship with each child in the group and help kids build friendships with each other.
A Small Group Helper shepherds kids to stay on-track during large group and small group times. Small Group Helpers allow leaders to focus on presenting the Bible lesson and explaining supporting activities to the whole group without distraction.
A Small Group Substitute leads a group when weekly volunteers are absent from service. Small Group Substitutes reinforce the teaching presented in large group, facilitate activities and lead discussions to help kids apply Biblical truths to their own lives.
A Large Group Leader uses creative storytelling and lively worship to make God’s word come alive on the stages of God’s Big Backyard (Kindergarten-2nd grade) or Xploration Station (3rd and 4th grade).
A Hangar 56 Large Group Leader presents kid-sized sermons to fifth and sixth graders in versatile ways from preteen-friendly exegesis to illustrative games and beyond.
A Large Group Helper assists the Large Group Leader in skits, activities and songs that require more than one person. Large Group Helpers use their creative talents to make songs and stories come alive in a way more impactful than what one person could do alone.
A Hangar 56 Worship Leader helps fifth and sixth graders understand that praising God through music is fun and meaningful. Hangar 56 Worship Leaders play live music on guitar or keyboard while singing and while earning kids’ buy-in through humor and other tactics. Serve as an individual talented in singing while playing, as a duo (one partner sings while the other plays), or as a team/band.
A Behind-The-Scenes Support Person uses administrative or creative gifts to support Children’s Ministry during the week in various ways. Support people may assemble materials or crafts for weekend serves, do data entry, shop for supplies, etc. This position can be custom-tailored to whatever it is that you do best.
A Check-In Team Member provides a warm and friendly welcome to guests and regular attendees. Check-In Team Members use computer touch screens to check children into services and register new families. When time permits, they show families around the church and help kids get settled into their rooms.
A Construction & Decor Project Manager uses artistic or construction talents to enhance our vibrant environments for kids. Project Managers construct large scale items like stages and walls, make props, sew curtains and costumes, decorate themed sets, paint murals, etc. depending on their area of giftedness.
A Hallway Monitor ensures that kids are safe during service times and allows leaders to fully focus on their classes. They patrol the hallways near children’s rooms and are available to page parents, monitor restrooms, run supplies between rooms, let leaders know when service is almost over and respond to crises.
A Special Needs Buddy partners with the family of a child who needs extra assistance to attend church. A buddy work with parents to become familiar with the child’s unique needs so that buddy and child can participate in Children’s Ministry to the greatest extent possible while the parents enjoy adult services.
A Stage Tech utilizes audio/visual (AV) equipment to enhance the elementary large group environments of God’s Big Backyard, Xploration Station and Hangar 56. A/V elements include Media Shout presentation software on a personal computer (PC), sound system, and stage lighting.
