The Great Room Coffee Shop is an instrument of Fairfax Community Church to encourage fellowship and community in an open, inviting, and comfortable environment.
Coffee Shop Baristas
The Barista team provides our members and guests warm and friendly hospitality by serving them a quick and tasty delight. Baristas are highly motivated, responsible, reliable, and friendly individuals who serve coffee, specialty drinks, and pastries to church guests.
Reports To: Coffee Shop Coordinator
Time Required: 1-4 hours during coffee shop operation hours
Term of Commitment: 4-5 Baristas needed per service. (one on register, one on Smoothies, one on hot drink bar, and one on calling orders/floater)
Qualifications: Cheerful, friendly, like to learn new things, not intimidated by talking to new people or making drinks. In most cases, you must be 15 years or older to volunteer.
Training Provided: A Barista Team leader or already skilled volunteer will train the new Barista on making all/or most of the specialty drinks using the various espresso/coffee/smoothie machines required.
Benefits for the Volunteer: As a barista, you will interact with many people and get to know the names and faces of our members and guests.
Supply Shoppers
Supply Shoppers assist the Kitchen team, Barista Team, and other Ministry Team Leaders by running errands for the coffee shop and other food related events.
Reports To: Coffee Shop Coordinator
Description: Supply Shoppers pick up supplies and/or food for the Great Room coffee shop, kitchen, and/or Ministry Leaders. They may also help restock shelves.
Time Required: One hour weekly
Term of Commitment: 1-2 hours every other week.
Qualifications: Must like to shop!
Training Provided: You will be given all the necessary information, forms, cards, lists needed to help restock the kitchen and Great Room items.
Benefits for the Volunteer: As a Supply Shopper you will get to know most ministry teams & leaders, become familiar to the specific supplies/food needs in the church, and have a hands-on position as a volunteer in the church.
Pizza Server
Pizza servers help set-up and serve pizza and water after the Saturday night service on the first Saturday of the month. They ensure a positive experience for attendees. Be a part of welcoming new people to the church as well as blessing members by serving pizza and providing an opportunity to fellowship after the service.
Who the Position Reports To: Pizza Coordinator
Time Required: ½ hour after the service on the first Saturday of the month.
Term of Commitment: No minimum or maximum commitment.
Qualifications: Enjoy being hospitable, friendly and dependable.
Training Provided: On the job training provided.

Events Food Team
Members of the Events Food Team help prepare and serve appetizers and/or meals at various church events, ensuring a warm, hospitable experience for event attendees.
Who the Position Reports To: Kitchen Manager
Time Required: As necessary.
Term of Commitment: No minimum or maximum commitment.
Qualifications: Enjoy being hospitable, friendly and dependable.
Training Provided: On the job training provided.
