Saturday evening I tagged along to a party at the home of some of the Baltes' friends. I have learned a new word here that I like. It's midnight in Zambia and I really should be asleep as I have to get up at 5 a.m. to head to Namibia. However, this installment is long overdue and so I thought I''d at least try to get a brief note written before turning out the lights. Speaking of lights, it's nice having a fairly regular power supply here in Livingstone. The other night I was about 50 miles north of Lusaka in a place where the power supply wasn't quite as dependable. Jeff Baltes and I found our way in the dark to the place...

Today I spoke to a group of trainees at the Advanced Missionary
Training program of Overland Mission. The view from the "no walls"
thatched classroom is spectacular. It's located on the ledge of the
Zambezi River Gorge near Victoria Falls. I don't know how many hundreds
of feet it is down the river but it's a sheer wall of rock and it's a
LONG ways down. I don't know if anyone was even paying attention. It's
hard to compete with such a stunning view. I know I was very
