The vision of the Resource Center is to impact our community, compelled by the love of Jesus. Our mission is clear and unwavering: no child should be without essential resources for their well-being and growth. The Resource Center was founded on the principle that no family should face hardship without support, and every child deserves access to essential resources to meet their basic needs.
Since it’s inception in 2021, the Resource Center has exploded in growth to become one of our county’s largest emergency food and essentials program. We are currently seeking a new director for the center to steward this growth and lead us in future expansion and impact in our community.

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant to join our team full-time (40 hours per week). This role is vital to the daily operations of the Resource Center and combines administrative support, volunteer coordination, logistical assistance, and physical work, including lifting and moving supplies.
The ideal candidate will be highly administrative, proactive, and passionate about serving the community in a fast-paced nonprofit environment. The ideal candidate should be comfortable driving a large truck or using their personal vehicle for shopping and errands as needed.
Reports to: Resource Center Manager
Work Schedule & Benefits: Full-time (40 hours), Monday – Friday. Occasional evenings and weekends, depending on coverage needs. Flexibility is required to meet changing demands, especially during high-volume distribution days.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative, Data Management and Inventory Support
- Provide administrative support to the RC Manager.
- Perform data entry for inventory and order tracking.
- Provide social media support for in-kind donations as needed.
Volunteer Leadership
- Supervise and coordinate volunteer teams.
- Organize and lead packing teams to efficiently prepare and distribute donation requests.
- Track volunteer attendance.
Resource Assembly and Distribution
- Assist with loading vehicles for social worker deliveries.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on outgoing resources.
- Shop for supplies as needed.
Daily Facility Support
- Participate in opening/closing tasks of the Resource Center.
- Maintain organization of supplies.
- Ensure workspace remains clean and functional.
Qualifications

- Exceptional attention to detail and strong administrative skills.

Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace and Excel
spreadsheets. - Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team setting.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel within the community for meetings and site visits.
- Driver’s license required and may include driving a box truck/utility van.
- Ability to lift and move supplies as needed for community projects and distributions. Can include lifting and moving items up to 30 pounds.
NEW: Facilities Manager

The mission of Fairfax Church is to love people and see them raised to life in Christ. The Facilities Manager position is a key support role in managing the spaces in which we in carry out our mission. This person will oversee the stewardship of our building and its resources that have been entrusted to us.
Work Schedule & Benefits: Full-time (40 hours), Monday – Friday. Evenings and weekends occasionally as needed. Competitive salary and full benefits package available.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that the facility is fully operational with all utilities functioning properly
- Manage a team of facility personnel to carry out the operational duties of managing the facility
- Maintain ongoing communication with contractors and vendors to ensure facilities maintenance and renovation needs are managed
- Maintain ongoing communication with staff to ensure that ministry and events needs in the facility are met
- Schedule and supervise maintenance repair work and assist with checking installation and servicing building equipment
- Manage the Facilities budget and negotiate with outside vendors for supplies, repairs and maintenance as needed
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and assist with energy management
- Oversee security of buildings and grounds
Qualifications
- Align with the vision, values, and overall mission of Fairfax Church.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent professional education
- 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or equivalent related functions
- Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety
precautions related to facilities management - Must be a well-organized, detail and customer (internal and external) oriented self-starter
- Strong procurement and negotiation skills
- Ability to communicate and interact with staff to ensure ministry needs are covered

Year One
In year one, you will rotate through the various ministries of the local church (kids, youth, music, admin, etc.) giving you robust local church experience.
Years Two and Three
In years two and three, you will specialize in one of these ministry areas. This valuable, hands-on training experience is coupled with a specialized year-round class schedule from one of our partner universities and a ministerial licensing program.
