Day 27: The Gift of Faith
Scripture to meditate on: Romans 10:17 Faith Comes by Hearing
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
Devotional:
I long for a deeper faith. I want to be rooted and grounded in God. This is especially true when my circumstances are challenging or things are not going as I expected. Often, my first response is to try and change my circumstances or ask others what to do. This passage had me asking myself, Who am I listening to? Is it increasing my faith or my fear?
Listening is such an important part of hearing the voice of God. The world is a noisy place. I am learning to be intentional about getting quiet and listening. He reminds me in his word that He is my Shepherd. I am to listen to His voice and follow Him. He will increase my faith as I listen to him through his word. He will show me the way. Lord, open my ears to hear you and increase my faith in you today.
