Rhythms of Jesus – Week 4: The Discipline of Community
Day 23: Loving One Another
Jesus didn’t suggest that we love one another—He commanded it. This kind of love is not based on feelings or convenience but on the example He gave us. Jesus’ love is sacrificial, patient, and unconditional. He calls us to extend that same love to those around us.
Loving one another is not just about being kind—it is how the world recognizes us as His disciples. When we love as Jesus loves, we reflect His heart and invite others to experience His grace. This love goes beyond words; it’s revealed through actions—serving, forgiving, encouraging, and walking alongside one another in both joy and hardship.
In a world that often feels divided and disconnected, Christ-centered love is a powerful testimony. When we choose to love, even when it’s difficult, we point others to the One who first loved us.
Key Verses:
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” ~ John 13:34-35
Step into Community:
- Show intentional love. This week, find a specific way to express Jesus’ love to someone—a kind word, a small act of service, or simply being present in their time of need.
When we love one another as Jesus loves us, we build stronger communities and reflect the heart of God to the world. Take the next step—love boldly and generously.
