Day 37: Temperance

Scripture:
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
1 Peter 5:8

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, We pray for abstinence in our thoughts, feelings and actions that tempt us to walk alone, without you.

Let us be reminded each morning as we wake to greet the warm sun on our face, that it is you who grants us this reprieve each day. That you, Heavenly Father, show us the love and mercy that we forget to show ourselves. Father God, only you can set us free from our misguided actions, our weaknesses, and our temptations. Help us be reminded that our soul is fed by you not by feeding the lion inside us.

Teach us how to walk with you each day, to feel your constant presence even in the darkness, to turn our will over to you. Amen

Reflection:
How will Jesus show up in my day today?
Do I have the eyes and ears to see and hear the wonders of his love and mercy?
How will I experience his grace? Will I see something miraculous? Something hope-filled that will transform me?
