Day 25: Purpose

Scripture:
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Matthew 22:36-40

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:8-10

Prayer:
Dear God thank you so much for making us and for sending Jesus, who saved us and gives us hope. We thank you for each day and for offering us a life with purpose and meaning. We thank you for your word and for your clear commandments.

God, we ask you to help us know how to love you and how to love others. Please open our hearts to know how to love you—to worship, to serve, to share. Give us a desire—a hunger—to know you more and love you more.

Please open our eyes to see how to love others—the work you are doing and the work you have prepared for each of us. Help us to give, help, pray, serve, and love others in your name.

God, please guide our steps and lead us to lives that honor you and share your love with the world. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Reflection:
How will Jesus show up in my day today?
Do I have the eyes and ears to see and hear the wonders of his love and mercy?
How will I experience his grace? Will I see something miraculous? Something hope-filled that will transform me?
