For the last 10 years my husband, Dan, dresses up in a hand-crafted costume that he has thought about for months. It started when our grandchildren arrived on the scene and I think the best part of Halloween for them is guessing who he might be each year and then walking with him through our neighborhood.
Our neighborhood does this night well. It’s a real community affair where those who participate create a sense of belonging and provide great safety for the families who are out. We encounter many neighbors who we don’t see every day but are glad to run into on this night.
What if we invited about 400 of our neighbors on a Friday night to Fairfax? Would we be prepared to love them well?
Fairfax Community Church is having a party on Friday, Oct. 25th in the form of a “Trunk or Treat” and is in need of neighborhood groups to host a trunk (of a car or truck) and welcome our neighbors for the evening. Please talk to your group this week and sign up HERE if you can host.
We’d love you and your group to show those 400 some Fairfax love!
